A newly planted tree is set within a prepared planting pit on an existing slope and secured with support stakes and ties. A four-inch watering basin is established around the root ball alongside rock or bark mulch placed over filter fabric. A six to twelve-inch rock rip rap slope protects the grade and maintains the basin on slopes of four-to-one or greater. All planting materials match the specified color and texture requirements per plan.
