A cast-in-place concrete planter features eight-inch concrete walls reinforced with number five continuous bars at the top, number five horizontal bars at twelve inches on center, and vertical number five bars at twelve inches on center with standard hooks. The interior faces of the walls and base slab are lined with a waterproofing membrane, maintaining a typical three-inch clearance. Perforated PVC drain pipes wrapped in filter fabric and sloped to drain sit at the base of the planter interior above a clean, roughened surface. The base slab includes number five reinforcing bars at twelve inches on center each way with three-inch clear cover. The overall interior height reaches a maximum of four feet with a minimum one-foot-thick base slab.
