Irrigation sleeve assemblies require a minimum depth of two feet below the finished paving surface. Trenches are backfilled with four inches of sand surrounding pipe and control wire sleeves, topped with clean, compacted backfill at ninety-five percent relative density. A locate wire is positioned within the sand layer above the sleeves. Paving rests on a layer of compacted base material, with a roofing nail driven into the paving surface to mark the sleeve location.
