An irrigation trench contains a mainline positioned at the bottom with an irrigation wire attached at intervals of fifteen feet. A lateral line is positioned above the mainline at a depth of one foot, while the mainline sits at a depth of one foot six inches below the top of the soil cover. Tracking tape is installed six inches above the pipe within clean and lightly compacted backfill.
