An irrigation head per plans is mounted to a PVC Schedule 80 riser set at least twelve inches above the PVC Schedule 40 lateral pipe. The riser connects through a PVC Schedule 40 street ell, a Schedule 40 PVC threaded tee ninety ell, a twelve-inch PVC Schedule 80 nipple, and a PVC Schedule 40 tee and street ell to form a flexible swing joint assembly. Specified compacted backfill surrounds the assembly up to finish grade. Sprinkler heads are set one-half inch above finish grade in turf areas and one inch above finish grade in shrub and groundcover areas, with swing joint assembly size determined by the head inlet size.
