A glulam beam connects to a collector via steel bucket plates positioned on each side of the timber member. The assembly is secured using either four or five three-quarter-inch through bolts, depending on the specific connection configuration. Slotted holes are provided in the upper portion of the bucket to accommodate movement, respecting a maximum distance to the bottom of the glulam beam. Shear plates of two and five-eighths inches are specified at all bolt locations on each side of the glulam beam for the five-bolt condition. A standard clearance of one-half inch is maintained to the top of the glulam beam, with specific spacing and edge distances detailed for the bolt group.
