A Rainbird 44LC lockable two-piece brass quick coupler is housed within a 10-inch round box set at grade, featuring a bolt-down lid labeled for reclaimed water irrigation with 1 1/2 inches of clearance. The valve is stabilized by a number 5 rebar, 16 inches long, clamped to the assembly with a stainless steel clamp and bedded in 3/4-inch gravel, 6 inches deep. Threaded joints require two full turns of Teflon tape. The connection runs through a PVC schedule 80 nipple measuring 1 inch by 12 inches, two 90-degree elbows, a schedule 80 90-degree threaded tee, and another PVC schedule 80 nipple measuring 1 inch by 12 inches down to the main line of PVC schedule 40 pipe at a minimum depth of 24 inches using purple pipe as specified on plans. The assembly is placed at an automatic valve location with a minimum of one every 200 lineal feet.
