A concealed door operator and closer are integrated into the soffit assembly above the door leaf as scheduled. The assembly consists of six-inch metal stud framing with batt insulation and a vapor retarder, wrapped with rigid insulation over a fluid-applied air and water barrier. A hinged access panel is suspended from kicker studs to allow maintenance of the operator. Continuous primary sealant is applied at all sides around the operator housing. Shiplap wood panel finishes are installed over furring strips at the adjacent ceiling and soffit areas.
