A hollow structural section beam sized per plan connects to an exterior cold-formed steel stud wall using a one-quarter-inch continuous bent plate welded with three-sixteenths welds. The cold-formed steel stud utilizes a TSN Verticlip SLB fastened with all slots filled per the manufacturer recommendations, maintaining a three-quarter-inch maximum gap. Utility punches must be located a minimum of ten inches away from the connection. A note specifies that one row of bridging shall be located a maximum of twelve inches from the clip typically.
