Transition between a concrete slab and an in-ground planter assembly. The concrete slab rests on a six-inch layer of Class II aggregate base over subgrade. Adjacent to the slab, the planter contains a three-inch mulch layer situated below the finished grade, placed over amended planting soil per agronomic soil analysis. The planter soil and aggregate base sit atop compacted fill and subgrade layers.
