Cross-laminated timber panels with variable orientation bear directly upon a supporting steel wide flange beam sized per plan. The panels are fastened to the top flange of the steel beam using MTC Solutions Kombi 5/16-inch by 3-1/8-inch screws spaced at 12 inches on center staggered. Edge and end distances are maintained at 1 inch minimum where panel edges occur, increasing to 1-3/4 inches minimum where required at specific panel joints.
