Landscape drift logs are positioned in excavated subgrade with one-third to one-half of their height buried and one-half exposed at the surface. Surface material is placed around the logs according to the planting plan. Excavation depth accommodates varying log sizes, and placement requires field approval by the owner's representative prior to backfilling. All logs must be flagged by the contractor and reviewed with the owner's representative before being moved to the site.
NOTES: 1. DEPTH OF EXCAVATION SHALL ACCOMMODATE VARYING LOG SIZES. 2. PLACEMENT OF LOGS SHALL BE FIELD APPROVED BY OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE PRIOR TO BACKFILLING. 3. ENDS OF LOGS TO BE PLACED PARTIALLY BURIED/PARTIALLY EXPOSED. 4. ALL LOGS TO BE FLAGGED BY CONTRACTOR AND REVIEWED WITH OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE BEFORE MOVED TO SITE. EXPOSE ALL TO 1/2 LOG HEIGHT SURFACE MATERIAL PER PLANTING PLAN. SUBGRADE BURY 1/3 TO 1/2 LOG HEIGHT
