A downspout constructed from an HSS6x0.25 member with a profile per architecture connects to the structural framing using a nested pipe assembly. The assembly consists of a 3-inch Schedule 40 pipe sleeve inside a 3-and-a-half-inch Schedule 40 pipe, secured with a 5/8-inch diameter hot-dip galvanized through-bolt. A thermal break and backing plate detailed separately are sandwiched between the mounting plate and framing, with a minimum 2-inch clearance noted on both sides.
