The assembly consists of a quarter-inch by six-inch commercial steel edging with a black powder coating finish anchored by minimum sixteen-inch long stakes at a rate of four stakes per ten-foot section. The edging is set into undisturbed or compacted sub-grade where soil is removed as needed and compacted to ninety percent compaction on each side using a hand compactor. Weed barrier fabric underlies the mulch bed while mulch is held down one-half inch from the top of the steel edging.
