A 1-1/2-inch diameter powder-coated steel vertical pipe post is anchored into a core-drilled hole in a concrete substrate. The core-drilled hole is sized one inch larger in diameter than the outside diameter of the post. The post is embedded to a depth equal to four times the railing diameter and is secured with non-shrink grout. A sealant is applied at the top of the grout pocket beneath a 1/4-inch powder-coated stainless steel collar matching the post finish. The maximum spacing for the vertical posts is 5 feet on center.
