Cold-formed steel studs are suspended from an overhead concrete over metal deck assembly in two orientations, running either parallel or perpendicular to the deck flutes. The structural connection is made using either one-half inch diameter Hilti Kwik Bolt-TZ anchors with five and one-half inch embedment centered at the deck flute typically, or zero-point-one-five-seven inch diameter Hilti X-U powder-actuated fasteners with one and one-half inch embedment. For walls parallel to the deck, a three-by-three inch 14-gauge angle supports the vertical framing. For walls perpendicular to the deck, a continuous 14-gauge deep leg track matches the vertical metal stud and connects using two number 10 sheet metal screws. The maximum hanging weight per single stud is restricted to 75 pounds.
