The assembly is built upon a compacted subgrade per civil engineering requirements, topped with an eight-inch compacted aggregate base. A six-inch cast-in-place concrete paving layer sits over the aggregate base. A three-and-a-half-inch bonded rubber base and impact layer is laid above the concrete. The top surface consists of a pour-in-place ethylene propylene diene monomer cap and wear layer.
