An elastomeric expansion joint material extends to the bottom of the concrete pour between concrete slabs or walls. A backer rod sits directly beneath a maximum three-eighths-inch wide elastomeric sealant joint, which is colored to match the surrounding concrete at the pavement or vertical surface junction.
