A mainline drain valve assembly housed within a 10-inch round valve box set over 3/4-inch washed gravel bedding. The valve box rests on four 6-inch by 8-inch by 16-inch concrete masonry unit blocks, with clustered boxes permitted to share a single block. The assembly incorporates schedule 80 PVC piping and fittings matched to the mainline size, connected via schedule 80 PVC threaded nipples and schedule 80 PVC unions with a nipple length sized to allow removal of the union nut. Schedule 80 PVC female adaptors connect the mainline to a brass isolation valve featuring threaded end connections and a handwheel top. Precast concrete pavers of standard brick size are placed beneath the valve box support, and a 2-inch class 200 PVC sleeve is installed over the brass isolation valve when the valve is positioned at a depth of 18 inches or deeper.
