A PVC mainline pipe is bedded at the bottom of the trench with accompanying valve wiring, maintaining a minimum 18-inch cover below finished grade. A PVC lateral pipe is positioned above the mainline at a minimum 12-inch cover beneath the soil layer. The trench is backfilled with material free of rock or debris larger than one inch in diameter, ensuring no large objects directly contact any pipe. The upper strata consist of soil and mulch layers installed per the planting plan.
