A three-quarter-inch expansion joint filler separates the concrete pavement from the vertical concrete substrate at the junction between a metal planter and cast-in-place concrete pavement. The horizontal concrete surface features a slope directed toward the drain. A waterproofing layer is applied along the planter face and deck. Detail callout L9.06 indicates the location for planter metal joints.
