An eight-and-one-half-inch metal edge restraint bears directly on top of the drainage mat over tapered insulation, which provides a consistent platform for the edging. A six-inch buffer zone separates the planting media from the roof edge, with filter fleece wrapping up the edge of the assembly. A four-inch-wide band of drainage rock runs along the entire distance of the roof. Waterproofing is detailed per architectural drawings beneath the tapered insulation.
