An aluminum angle serves as an edge restraint between concrete unit paving and a planting area, positioned one-half inch below the top of the paving. The angle is bolted to a reinforced concrete base slab at twenty-four inches on center. The unit pavers sit on a sand setting bed over the reinforced concrete slab, which is sized per civil drawings. The concrete slab rests on a compacted aggregate base and compacted subgrade.
