An intensive green roof edge assembly is supported by a structural base finished with waterproofing, protection, and a root barrier per architectural drawings. Dow Styrofoam insulation is laid over the waterproofing, topped with Gardendrain GR50 filled with lightweight aggregate. Systemfilter fabric separates the drainage layer from Litetop intensive growing media, which is retained at the edge by a Gardenedge metal edge restraint. Adjacent to the planting bed, a two-foot wide gravel drainage zone slopes toward a concrete lintel featuring metal flashing and waterproof sealant.
