A wood deck is anchored to a reinforced concrete retaining wall using countersunk screws plugged with wood filler. An eighth-inch stainless steel angle plate supports the base of the wood deck, with its end finished flush to the deck face. The exposed concrete below the deck is painted black above the finish grade and adjacent planting soil.
