Three guy cables spaced equally around the rootball attach at two-thirds of the tree height using reinforced rubber hose protection. Galvanized turnbuckles tension each cable anchored to three two-by-three-inch by four-foot fir posts set outside the tree pit at a twenty-five-degree angle. Burlap rolls back from the top third of the rootball and securing rope is cut from the trunk prior to backfilling with compacted planting soil mix. A three-inch layer of mulch covers the pit while remaining pulled away from the tree trunk.
INSTALL 3 GUIDES PER TREE EQUALLY SPACED AROUND THE ROOTBALL. THE GUIDES SHOULD BE PLACED 2/3 OF THE HEIGHT OF THE TREE IN REINFORCED RUBBER HOSE. GALVANIZED TURNBUCKLES, 1 PER CABLE 3" MULCH (PULL MULCH AWAY FROM TRUNK OF TREE) (3) 2'X3'X4' FIR POST; ATTACH GALVANIZED MALLEABLE STEEL CABLE TO POST AND SECURE BY TWISTING TAUTLY; SET ANGLE OF POST & GUY TO ENTER GROUND AT THE LIMIT OF THE SPREAD OF THE BOTTOM BRANCHES; STAKES SHALL BE OUTSIDE OF TREE PIT. ROLL BURLAP BACK FROM TOP 1/3 OF ROOTBALL BEFORE BACKFILLING. CUT ROPE FROM TRUNK. BACKFILL WITH PLANTING SOIL MIX AS SPECIFIED PLANTING MIX, COMPACTED TO 92% UNDISTURBED SUBGRADE STAKE ANGLE 25°
