A pitcher's rubber is anchored centrally with the top surface set one-eighth of an inch above the surrounding turf infill. The assembly rests on a concrete sub-base flanked by four-inch-wide wood blocking secured with anchor bolts. Synthetic turf abuts the pitcher's rubber on both sides over a six-inch prepared aggregate or sub-base layer. Four-inch vertical and horizontal dimensional clearances define the concrete and wood layout.
