An anti-skate notch configuration is incorporated into concrete amphitheater seating or seatwalls adjacent to concrete pavement. The notch is spaced equally at a maximum of three feet on center and requires shop drawings for layout verification. A three-quarter-inch chamfer is detailed at the top outside edge of the seatwall. Concrete pavement abuts the lower portion of the wall structure. Anti-skate notches are specified on all walls outside secured courtyards that remain adjacent to pavement.
