This assembly details a custom hardwood slat bench seat integrated with a raised planting bed atop a concrete curb. The bench features a 100 percent Forest Stewardship Council certified hardwood slat top seat supported by a powder-coated stainless steel top plate and a continuous C-channel steel frame with an integrated one-inch linear light. The adjacent planter curb is retained by a powder-coated stainless steel top comb system and stainless steel plates secured with gusset plates and threaded stainless steel rods. The steel framing anchors to a cast-in-place concrete curb using stainless steel headed anchor bolts over rigid insulation, a drainage course, filter fabric, and a waterproofing system sized per architectural drawings. Planting soil and mulch fill the raised bed, which includes weepholes for drainage.
