The concrete stair assembly features a tread with a two percent typical slope and a riser set at a seventy-five-degree angle. A continuous abrasive cast safety nosing is set flush with the tread and riser, providing a two-inch minimum width warning strip at the upper approach and all treads. The nosing is required to be a contrasting color per Americans with Disabilities Act requirements. A number four nosing bar is embedded within the concrete with one and one-half inch minimum cover. The tread edge is finished with a one-half inch maximum radius.
