An athletic field subsurface drainage trench is excavated into the existing subgrade and backfilled with coarse sand per section 329100. A high-density polyethylene perforated pipe, sized per plan per section 334617, rests within the sand trench bed with a three-inch minimum clearance above the subgrade. The trench extends upward through the infield mix per section 321823.19 to support the natural grass field surface. Key dimensions include a one-foot minimum trench depth, three-inch minimum clearances to the sides of the pipe, and angular bedding tolerances of seventy-five degrees minimum and eighty-five degrees maximum.
