Concrete unit pavers with butt joints are placed adjacent to planting areas over a minimum 4-inch Class II aggregate base with 95 percent relative compaction. A structurededge paver edge restraint secures the perimeter, anchored vertically into the subgrade. The entire assembly bears on 95 percent compacted subgrade or natural ground with a total assembly depth dimensioned at 8 inches. Decomposed granite paving is detailed with a separate joint interface adjacent to the unit pavers. A note requires submitting a sample of the edging to the landscape architect or owner's representative for approval prior to installation.
