A 600S162-54 cold-formed steel stud brace spans diagonally from a vertical metal stud to a composite concrete deck above, spaced at a maximum of four feet on center. The brace connects to a continuous 400S162-54 backing stud using two number 12 self-tapping metal screws at the lower wall intersection. Additional 600S162-54 stud reinforcement secured with two number 10 self-tapping metal screws at twelve inches on center is required when the brace length exceeds eight feet. The upper connection anchors to the composite concrete deck assembly per engineering details. A one-inch maximum clearance is maintained at the vertical stud framing intersection.
