The tree is set plumb and centered in the planting pit with its rootball positioned two inches above the finish grade. A three-inch layer of mulch covers the rootball and watering saucer, tapering to a maximum of one inch at the base of the trunk. Backfill mix fills the surrounding pit alongside an inspection tube with a cap. Tree stakes and non-wire guy supports secured with black rubber hose stabilize the trunk.
