Trenching adjacent to the root protection zone requires maintaining a specified minimum distance based on the trunk caliper, measured from the trunk to the trench. The drip line establishes the outer reference boundary for root protection. Tree trunk planking of minimum eight-foot height or up to the limits of lower branching is provided for physical protection during construction activities.
