A small decorative planter pot is installed on two-inch risers with a minimum of three risers per pot, resting upon the finished grade of a hardscape surface. The interior of the pot contains a drainage hole at the base, overlain by a three-inch depth of washed number 57 gravel and a layer of geotextile filter fabric. Above the filter fabric lies an eighty-five percent compacted lightweight soil mix, followed by planting mix per specifications, and a three-inch layer of mulch at the top surface supporting vegetation.
