A perimeter of rock sacks or sandbags placed along the edge of pavement directs flow for storm drain inlet protection. Inlets on grade require a one-bag high spillway, while inlets in sumps require a two-bag high configuration. Each inlet must be equipped with an internal filter fabric or basket. This assembly is for short-term use to inhibit non-storm water flow and must be removed upon completion of adjacent construction operations. These measures are not applicable in areas with high silts and clays unless used in conjunction with filter fabric.
