The assembly consists of a base mounted pump and motor mounted on an inertia base equipped with vibration isolation and seismic isolation per specification, resting on a concrete housekeeping pad. The piping configuration incorporates a suction diffuser supported by a leg and a wye strainer with a blowdown port on the suction side, alongside pipe reducers and flexible mechanical couplings or braided flexible hoses typically on the connections. A check valve is installed on the discharge line, and alarming vibration and temperature sensors are provided at the motor with wiring to the direct digital control system.
