The rootball sits in an excavated pit sized twice the width of the rootball and set upon undisturbed native on-site soil. Amended site soil surrounds the lower rootball zone, featuring fertilizer tablets placed per specifications. Surface amended soil fills the upper twelve inches maximum. A two-inch layer of wood mulch covers the finish grade, sloping to form a watering basin at trees.
