A pop-up sprinkler connects to a lateral pipe through a twelve-inch pre-assembled swing joint per Blu-Lock. In planting beds, the top of the sprinkler is positioned one inch above the finished grade. In turf areas, the top of the sprinkler is installed flush with the finished grade. A number fourteen dedicated trace wire runs alongside or with the lateral piping.
