A vehicular-rated cast-in-place concrete paving section bears on prepared sub-base layers. The top wearing course consists of a six-inch high-quality cast-in-place concrete slab with fiber mesh reinforcing. Below the concrete slab lies a six-inch untreated base coarse gravel layer. A one-foot thick compacted granular sub-base supports the gravel base, resting directly upon the existing subgrade.
