An athletic field surfacing section consists of a six-inch layer of infield mix placed over a three-inch layer of coarse sand. The sand rests on a subgrade compacted to ninety-five percent dry density as specified by civil drawings. Material specifications reference section 321823.13 for the infield mix and section 329100 for the coarse sand.
