Shrubs are installed within amended planting soil set above compacted existing subgrade with a maximum relative compaction of 85 percent. Fertilizer tablets are positioned two to three inches below the finish grade adjacent to the rootball. The top surface is finished with a layer of mulch flush with the surrounding finish grade.
