This landscape detail shows a steel header edging assembly separating a planting area from a decomposed granite surface. The assembly consists of a one-quarter-inch by five-inch steel header restrained by a fifteen-inch long stake driven into the subgrade. The decomposed granite is laid to a depth of one foot three inches adjacent to the planting bed. A maximum clearance of one-half inch is maintained at the edge condition.
