Lawn or meadow grass sits adjacent to a mulch-filled plant bed separated by a vertical soil edge. The plant bed consists of top mulch placed over a prepared subgrade. A two-inch horizontal offset and a three-inch vertical depth dimension define the separation between the turf and the mulch bed.
