Decomposed granite paving sits over a return filter layer positioned at the bottom of the aggregate base. A one-quarter inch by six-inch continuous circular stainless steel plate forms the edge, secured with machine bolts spaced at two feet on center into the concrete curb edge of the deck support. The radius of the stainless steel plate matches the outside edge of the circular decking area, which surrounds the entire deck. Wood decking over joists bears on the adjacent concrete curb.
