An American Water Works Association cast iron mechanical joint gate valve with a resilient wedge connects to the mainline as specified per plan. A polyvinyl chloride sleeve of required size and length notches over the valve for stability and extends up to a ten-inch round valve box. A six-inch minimum pea gravel layer sits under the entire box and fills the interior to stabilize the sleeve.
