A tree protection fence is constructed with chain-link fabric and 2-inch diameter galvanized steel posts anchored 36 inches minimum into the ground outside the crown drip line. The fence stands 6 feet high and incorporates a tree protection sign with required safety notices. A 4-inch thick layer of mulch is applied across the root zone while maintaining the existing grade. Notes specify that no pruning, material storage, or equipment operation is permitted inside the protective fencing without arborist or city approval.
TREE PROTECTION FENCE - DO NOT MOVE OR REMOVE WITHOUT APPROVAL FROM CITY/PROJECT ARBORIST. NO STORING OF MATERIALS OR MACHINERY.
