This assembly consists of a three-inch layer of mulch over a six-inch compacted layer of unmixed imported soil. Below this, a six-inch transition layer contains a blend of fifty percent imported soil and fifty percent existing native soil. The existing subgrade is scarified to a depth of six inches below the imported topsoil layer to ensure proper integration. The total depth of the imported soil profile is one foot.
