A minimum fourteen-gauge slip track featuring slotted flanges fits over the top of the metal stud, which is sized per schedule, providing vertical deflection at wall heads. The assembly provides one-half inch minimum clearance at the top of the stud. Number ten self-tapping sheet metal screws are installed at the center of each slot on each side to allow vertical movement. This connection is restricted to locations where the slope is less than five-eighths inch per foot.
